For the record... I like it in the frying pan a little longer till it's dark brown and crispy on the edges...
Hey cedestech, for the record, just like you just said is how Vickie has been frying up those large platters of hot water bread to go along with the gumbo, at every Coop Shoot we’ve done since we started in 2015. She has over 40 years of experience.
The next Coop Shoot will be the last weekend in February, 2019, and as usual will feature all you can eat hot water bread and the greatest and the only indoor air rifle silhouette tournament in the Nation. If you Shoot air rifle silhouette, and haven’t been to a Coop Shoot, you don’t know what you’ve been missing. Ask those that have came. Y’all come!!!
And for the record, concerning what this thread is about, the one time that I asked Adam Braverman about buying a couple of items for the Coop, he gave both of them to us.
That’s what I call support.
This is Emmett... I keep wanting to but stuff comes up.... BUT... now that I know there hot water cornbread... :)

Not a big sweets guy... I don't believe I have ever said no to a piece of pie though... Pecan, apple, cherry, rhubarb, mince meat and the like... not a big puddin pie eater... puddin is for a bowl, fruit and nuts goes in a crust... =))

You'd have to ask the OP why he posted his rant here.

The thread has gone off into the deep end of the off-topic pool on it's own... well, mostly because of Danny and Emmett.
:D

Hush Alan.... we be talking food....

Beef or pork ribs?

Tangy sauce or vinegary...

(besides, far better then the OP's original post... much more relevant....)

Yep. That’s a fact Jack!!! Besides, I’m pretty sure that the original subject was clearly settled and put to rest.
And, besides, there is not a food section on steelchickens.

There is NOW!
I prefer a rub NO sause on pork. Beef is fine too I just prefer pork. Slow cooked for in a smoker for 6-8 hours. Yum :D
Besides I think the site is down for maintenance.

BBQ in the North East is popular but hard to find sometimes. I myself have been doing it for a while because I didn't like what I found. I do a mash up of South Western/ Kansas BBQ with lots of spices. Texas BBQ is what most BBQ pits around here do so its not bad! Ive never heard of hot water corn bread but it will be on the plate at my next BBQ fo' sure. Also around here you have to do your BBQ ing early. By fall its to cold to maintain the right heat. And winter is...well you get the picture. 8-x
