2 Barreled Rifle Actions 4 Sale - 6.5 Grendel & 7.62x39

Post by TheBugFather »

I have two Howa 1500 Mini Barreled Actions for sale on Gunbroker.

6.5mm Grendel with Medium/light 20" barrel
https://www.gunbroker.com/item/844457844

7.62x39 with Medium/Heavy 20" barrel
https://www.gunbroker.com/item/844462036

both would make light recoil shooters for youth, ladies or people like me :) who don't like recoil (I shoot a 6.5 Grendel)

for silhouette rifle or deer/pig hunters or target shooters.
made in the same plant as Weatherby Vanguard rifles in Japan.

Very nice stocks available from Boyds, look under Howa 1500 mini actions.

Thanks and please help if you can, Dennis

I bought a Howa in 7.62x39 for a cheap gun for when I am too lazy to reload or for friends to try out silhouette on the cheap. My 1980s scope broke through our first match (gotta love Leupolds warranty though) but out of 3 hits on rams, 1 went down with. Great fun guns. And can be rebarreled to a 6ppc without any issues if I so want.

Great rifles

I use the 6.5 Grendel as my Hunter and Standard, something I built a while back, when a hunter rifle was a factory loaded round and chambering.

Of course mine is a 26" silhouette built rifle, but I can easily match 6 BR loads, 2600+ fps with 107's and 2400 fps with 130's for rams.

Unlike the 6BR shooters, I'm not good at all and getting worse every year, I only shoot maybe 1 or 2 matches a year, maybe even less if that is possible.

The current low recoil 6br shooters have the ability to shoot at the high spots on the Ram to get more hits, I'm luck if I can stay on the right animal on my bank. So the very few Rams I hit, do go down with the 130's and all with almost no recoil.

I think if you load the 7.62x39 right, not factory stuff, you might be able to do the same with it too.

Anyways, thanks for the encouragement and thanks for the plug!

Dennis

BTW, the 6.5mm Grendel and the 7.62x39, both have the same bolt face as the 6 PPC.
