I'd order up a case of this today if it weren't bulk packed like that. I'm not a fan of bullet wax being all over the brass case when rounds get fired, and I definitely don't want it on the rim where the extractor needs to do its work. I wonder if the ammo either doesn't have lube like most other target ammo or it does and it just gets all over the cases.

i was at the cmp store yesterday and tried/asked to look at some. i wanted to see what type of wax eley was using on the bullet. but they would not open a case for me. i hope the bullet wax is not like the bullet wax cci uses on their standard velocity 22lr ammo.

My guess is that it is the same wax they use on their cheaper ammo. Why would they use CCI wax?

Ordered a case today. I'll give my opinion soon. (my opinion is free)

i did not mean the same wax that cci uses. i was trying to say the same type of heavy wax, like the heavy wax i have seen on cci sv ammo.

I have a case ordered and will let you know what the wax is like.

Have you had a chance yet to evaluate the Eley ammo yet?

I should have it by next Sunday. It shipped Yesterday.

Thanks Jerry, I believe we are all looking forward to seeing targets comparing this Eley ammo from CMP to SK magazine, SK Standard Plus and Eley Target ammo.

Have you considered running the various testing ammos through a chronograph? I would love to see velocities with their respective averages and standard deviations.
