Bullet Lube

Post by Heavybarrell »

Hello Gentleman, I decided to go to the range today and sight in my 54MS after making some scope adjustments for cant and eye relief. After firing a few rounds I noticed my bullet lube was discolored. After examining this, the bullet still had it's lubed, waxy feel but I am wondering about the effects of this. The ammo still shot a small ragged hole at the chicken line. I shot this same ammo at 100 yards a month ago and it shot under an inch. My concern is I'm sitting on a pretty good supply of this and really do not want to eat it and need to purchase newer ammo. Especially at todays inflated prices and demand. Any input would be greatly appreciated. The ammo is RWS Target and approx. 6-7 years old. Thanks
Butch

It should be fine. I am going to guess it is some old Eley with the wax looking lube.
