Scope Blinder

Post by teetertotter »

I misplaced my slip on scope eye blinder last week and was not turned in at our club. I was shooting indoors and left the item on the club house table. While looking to reorder a new replacement via the internet, I came across the "Eye Blind" product that attaches to the scope, which makes a lot of sense to me. Eye Blind sent me the dimensions and I fabricated one out of card board to slip on the scope eye piece. Since this would be affixed to the scope in a permanent fashion, I e-mailed Greg. He left me a voice mail this morning stating it would be the same as those slip on ones or a patch over one of your eyes or a blinder that attaches to your hat. He still is bringing it up with the rules committee in October. I will be buying the "Eye Blind," attachment. Maybe some are all ready using?

There are dozens of these in use at every major match, including nationals. I saw many of them at the Conard Cup match this past weekend. They're fine.

Edit: Just to be clear, two of those that I saw in use were on my rifles also. 8)

I want to see some hardcore young kid have a patch directly pierced into their eyebrow!
I buy all my guns from t-rex. He's a small arms dealer.

Thank you Mary. the Eye Blind fit the scope, perfectly! When Greg E. came to our State Championship in 2013, he gave me an eye blinders that slips on and off. I think he said his father makes them. That is the one I misplaced in our indoor range a month ago. I tried e-mailing him, but his e-mail must have changed. It was a real honor to have him join us. Not sure if it was his wife that spotted for him and would have been nice if she shot with us, but did not bring her equipment. Again, thank you for the Eye Blind. :D
