Just my FX-3, 25/40, 1/2 min dot. Sold the Sightron 6-24X42 SIL back in February as the dot was getting to small at 77 and 100 meters, but served well at 24X for some time. FX-3 Optics are Sooo bright!

I now have a Leupold FX-3 in 25x40 and boy is it a huge difference from my 12x40This is almost like relearning how to shoot.

So, you keep saying this. In what way are you having to relearn how to shoot... :?:

The wobble is exaggerated so what I thought was a good stance may not be one. I am having extraordinary difficulty trying to keep the dot somewhere near the animal.

It will take time to come to terms with this large of a jump in magnification.

Mary,

24x, it seems that I have been behind the times by using a straight 12x.

I am sure I will adapt to my new 25x, it will just take some time.

Thanks.

David,
Depending on the lighting, I tend to use 20 to 25 power, but in low lighting I will go down to 18.

You are right Mary. High power settings cut down on the light thru the scope. Sun shades do the same thing.

3x12, 6x18 and 6.5x20 efr. I shoot critters with my guns so I need to dial down for close shots.
