Well done Old Ranger! From the front with clothes on he does sort of resemble Gru from the minions.

Talk about a thread getting side tracked.

I am using fixed and variable scopes. I am using a Weaver T-16, Weaver T-24, Bushnell elite 4200 6-24, Sightron fixed 24, and maybe even a Sightron 6-24. I keep the variable scopes set on 24 power.

Especially with Elmer Fudd aka DavidABQ, the instigator.

How did that 25X work for you yesterday? Did you make it out to Zia?

I am surprised I got anything with my wobble! This is like learning how to shoot all over again!

BTW: I put the 12x on my Remington 700 in .308 and got it sighted in for 200 yrs.

Any idea how much moa I need to dial in to go after the white buffalo at The Whittington Center?

You may need to work on your hold if your wobble is that bad, but then again, we should be concentrating on shoot pointing in.

Your best bet is to go to the tactical long range and shoot from the bench out to 800 and see how many clicks it takes from your 200 yard zero. When we shot the 260LA Remington to hit the WB (1025 meters = 1121 yards) we zeroed on the Rams at 500 meters I think we adjusted somewhere around the 9-10 clicks @ 1/4 moa. The only problem is that:

1. It was back in July and I have slept since then.
2. We ended up changing ammo in between shots due to reload issues, then used factory ammo for the final shots

Are you shooting from a bag or bipod?

I will start with a front and rear east but ultimately I want to nail it standing offhand. I may have to wait until next year at the Nationals. I may do what you did and head over there after practice one day.

Hey David,

During this years clinic up at Raton, do you feel that your hold was improved? Did the experts tell you anything you needed to improve your hold?

Well, my tikka 308 is about 10 moa to get from 200 to 500 meters. Probably need to get one of those programs with your specific loads to even get close. How far is the buff? 1200 yards?

The white buffalo is at 1123 yrs. If it is 10 moa to go from chickens to rams than I would begin by going up 25 moa from chickens to the buffalo. It is not a parabolic curve, bullet trajectory, but it will put me close enough that my spotter can see what it is going and direct in. That is my hope at least.

with a 200 m zero, it is up 31 on my 260 142 gr for 1000 yds.

Dave, how do you sight your 308 in for 200 yrs? My 200 m zero only last from one airplane trip to the next. 200 years is a long time. :ymdevil: =))

Mr. Winstead said my hold looked good. Dave Bonner helped me tremendously with my natural point of aim.

I hope that with some time with this scope I can get my movements to be smaller.
