Parallex out of adjustment

I have a leupold FX3 25X scope that I just bought from Mr. Pete. I unsealed the box when I got it in. Friday afternoon, at the Louisiana state high power match in Zwolle, I found that the scope would only be in clear focus around the distance for air rifle silhouettes. In order to try and use it, I had to turn the AO as far as it would go, past the infinity mark. Plus I had to turn the eye piece all the way in. This put the reticle very much out of focus and the animals were not clear at all. They were blurry but I was able to make them out enough to shoot.

My question is: do I send the scoep back to Pete or do I send it to Leupold?

Don't ever send a 'bumped' scope back to the big L. They will put it back to factory spec, and there goes your bump.

We had the same problem.
I have three of them going back for repairs.
All of them where some of the last of that model built and very close together on serial numbers. FX3 25x
Have them check your elivation dial. All three of ours would be exactly on 0 but as you turn the dial the clicks start to misalign with the 1/4 click marks at about 2.75 and then realign at about 9.75. Windage worked just fine.
I have found Leupold has always stood behind their scopes no matter what the problem, so I'm not to worried. Just a little bump in the road.
A year from now I will have forgotten it ever happened.
