Leupold 30 power scope.

Post by DavidABQ »

I am considering replacing my Leupold 25x for a Leupold 30x.
I need a new scope for my Remington 700 I'm .308 and I am considering a 30x to go along with my 25x.

Small bore silhouette rifle would get one and the model 700 would get the other.

Is the 30x worth the extra cash?

I think instead of the 30x you should just get a 18-40x with a premier boost. Oh, did I mention I was considering selling my 18-40x with a premier boost?
I buy all my guns from t-rex. He's a small arms dealer.

That is one heck of a coincidence! :-o

What are you going to replace it with? A Leupold scope boosted to 80x?

I think I want to go to a fixed 25 like I have for smallbore.

That is what I am thinking for my cheapie high powered rifle.
I hope to use the cheapie rifle for medium range steel plates. Nothing much further than 600 yards.

I wish I saw this post earlier. I want to swap out my Leupold 30x for another 25x. No problem with the 30x but I just want to have the same scope on both my silhouette rifles.

Thanks Pete. I was thinking about trying to find someone that wanted to trade scopes, but your price is pretty tempting. I'll have to consider this some more after I get back from vacation.

Pete,
Can you give me contact information for your store. It looks like you have good prices on scopes.
Thanks

Leupold is no longer producing and stocking the FX-3 line of Silhouette scopes. I have been told that they will be available through the custom shop although right now they are out of some of the necessary parts to build them. I have one on order as a test and will report when I find out more.

Pete,

Are you saying that you cannot get the FX-3 in 25x40 with a 1/2 min. dot reticle?

Crap, I wanted one for my Remington 700!

Any idea if the Custom Shop made ones are going to jump up significantly in price?

I've been told there will be a slight price increase but don't know how much yet, that why I only have one on order.
