FX3 scopes?

Post by Hotrodrockets »

Posting here because this is the "knowlege base".
Question was asked on Facebook.
By a member of Silhouette Shooters Society

Hey brainstrust.
Leupold FX-3 25x40 scopes.
Can anyone please give me an indication of the sight picture is like with a 1/2 MOA leupold dot vs a 3/8 MOA leupold dot reticle??
Smarty pants answers like "1/8MOA less" excepted 😉

I posted this in response to his question on Facebook, however, I thought I would post it here for everyone.
These pictures were taken through Leupold FX-3 25x scopes. Chicken is at 40 meters.
Hope this helps!

HI ALL ,

THANK YOU so much for taking the TIME and EFFORT to actually film the difference in sight pictures !!!
I am not sure IF anybody realizes the effort ...
AS can be seen the 1/2 minute dot is VERY prominent ...
I personally prefer 3/8 minute ...
the 3/8 minute is closer in size to an ACTUAL bullet hole on paper .
