I guess I would rather focus on the fact that Leupold has a solid offering for people wanting to get into the sport than them not installing target dots. Yes a target dot is preferred but isn't necessary. Cool thing is, you can still shoot silhouette without a target dot.

Myself, I prefer 1/2 MOA Dot. ....if you can find these days.
