Anyone used the Leupold intensifier light filters?
Now that I have an adapter that will let me use my Leupold 50ft adapter on my Weaver T24, I am considering picking up a set of the Leupold intensifiers.
Leupold Alumina Intensifier Kit
More info on the Midway USA website
I'm specifically wondering if the bronze intensifier "enhances reds, amplifies the difference between foliage and game animals, makes white targets stand out from the background" like it says. Anyone ever tried those intensifiers to see if they're worth messing with? I wouldn't mind one that helped with contrast that made finding a spot to shoot at faster, especially when the target setters are doing a really thorough job painting the targets.

Jason I've got a set and I will let you use them next time we shoot together. I rarley use them at all, maybe under really difficult light but more often than not I dont use them. I dont know if its my eye trying to get use the different color or what but I'll put them on in practice and shoot a couple of shots and then take it off. The two I experimented with was the bronze and the light blue the yellow almost was to bright. Try mine out before you spend $$$ on them and see if you like them if not you can use the $$$ for more reloading or save it for the southern nats.

Jason, Same comments as Shakes, in the box more then on the scope. Like them for a hazy day, but more often then not I don't use them.

I have a set and tried them at practice a couple of times but never shot a match with them.

I read that the Bronze Filter would be good for white painted animals against any background. That is to say, the white stands out. Can anyone confirm?
I didn't want to buy the whole kit, but will if I have to. My size is the 40mm. Any help will be appreciate

I will be at the Missoula Iron Man the first weekend in June. If you want to try them, talk to me there. I have the 40mm with the new threads and an adapter to the old threads.

Re: Anyone used the Leupold intensifier light filters?
There are a whole lot of filters made for photography that would make the animals stand out in tough light conditions, either too much or not enough. I have been trying to find an adapter to go from the Leupold threads to a standard camera lens/filter thread but the Leupold thread is not like any I can find. I f anyone knows where to get such an adapter, please let me know.

Find the lens you want and epoxy it into a short sun shade.

There's and idea. Then you would have threads to add whatever other filter you wanted and have protection for the front element from sand and dust.
Where did you get the fancy adapter you have Jerry?

For a scope filter adapter, you might try http://www.scopeacc.com/shopdisplayprod ... e+Adapters
I wrote them to see if there is a Bronze filter they could come up with, yesterday.
