If I have to go fixed, 24X. More field of view, less crossfires in a match, less movement visible and usually more versatile in low light.

24X. Like Mary said. I really don't see any real advantage beyond 24X. I tried 30X and 32X and I hit less because I over reacted to the wobble. In my opinion it gets really bad on a windy day.

Yes 24x is the way to go. shot 36x on standard small bore for many years, some days good, some days to much to hold. now use 30x. HP @ 24x.

I had a 12-40x Tasco that went bad where when you set the power above 24x it would go out of focus. I had to use it that way for a couple of matches and at 24x my scores went up by 3-4 hits. I've been using a fixed 24x ever since.
