Newbie Survey Question ??

Post by SmallCaliber »

If you all wouldn't mind telling me, how many of you use fixed optics vs variables when shooting Rimfire Silo. In either case whats your choice of magnification ?

Regards & Thanks

I'm currently using a fixed 24x scope (Weaver T24), but will be getting my fixed 30x Leupold within the next few days. If it works better for me than the Weaver, then I'll be switching. :)

I have used fixed T10 first, followed by a Premier Doubled 12 to a 24X and now shoot a Premier 18X40 with 1 minute dot and vari the power based on the lighting and conditions at the time.
For a newbie I would recomend nothing more than 24X but at least a 12X, adding the power makes things look bigger but forces concentration on which animal you are shooting on and distracts from other things to focus on like naturl point of aim, breath control etc..
