1-1/2 Inch Tall Rings

Post by teetertotter »

Are there 1-1/2" tall rings or close to it. To get close to that height, I am using BKL .77 inch tall rings with .67 inch risers. Does anyone know where there are one piece tall rings of this height or a little under w/o having to use risers? This would be for my CZ 452, American, w 3/8" dovetail. Are there such tall rings out there that anyone is aware of?

For silhouette isn't the limit 1 inch from the barrel to the bottom of the scope?

I've never seen stock rings that high, probably have to stick with what you have or go custom.

1-1/2" for Hunter and believe it is 2" max. for Std Class. Someone can correct me on Std Class.

I just got an email of a fellow that might still make custom rings in his machine shop. But this goes back 20 years when this fellow got his rings from him. His name is Don Weathersbee and lives in TX., that made the custom rings.

You're right. 1 1/2" for hunter and 2" for standard. My bad.

I just had some great 1.5" rings made by Morr Accuracy. Very light, well made, attractive and reasonably priced.
Here's an article about these rings. http://bulletin.accurateshooter.com/201 ... -accuracy/

Glassshot, thank you for the info. They are really nice looking rings and design is for self aligning similar to BKL.
Two weeks ago, I removed the BKL risers and the scope is now .77 inches tall and have a cheek weld that I did not have before with my 452 American.

Couple days after that, I fell in our rifle clubs driveway area at our dedicated silhouette range, to retrieve some items out of the shed to bring home. Have to order bolt indicators and pins. Long story short, wearing an adjustable brace to prevent elbow movement.

I did try shooting with the reduced height in rings and will make the adjustment. Before, I had a chin weld and will see if there will be improvement with the change. Middle of April, I expect to be back with some practicing at the indoor range.

Nice info on the Rings!

I tried the bkl plus risers too. Turned out it was a little bit too much for me. Now I'm just using the bkl's and its comfortable. I guess there is such a thing as too much of a good thing.

They are aluminum, so go easy on the clamp pressure and watch for galling. But yes, they lap in really nice.

I have the Morr Accuracy 1.5 rings. They are super light weight and great quality. Highly recommended.
