Why not Leupold CDS?

Post by JNW »

I have not seen any discussion of silhouette shooters using Leupold's CDS turret on their scopes. Why not? You can have a custom turret tailored to your rifle and ammunition. Seems like it would work really well.
Thanks,

Just to many variables for it to work properly....ammo...ammo lots..ammo brands....altitude..temprature...lighting...slight variation in distances...ranges that are up or down hill...and the list goes on...

As Maligator says, on a rimfire there's not an opportunity for the custom dial to make a difference. I have thought that if the turret is tall enough for target rifle use, it might make a good alternative for folks that wanted something shorter than the standard target turrets. Still, though, the windage adjustment is the barely useful hunting dial.
