Problem with new Benjamin Marauder .25 cal.

I hope someone can help. I just bought a brand new Benjamin Marauder .25 cal. and the highest velocity I've been able to get out of it is around 375 fps. I've seen a bunch of videos of people getting 850+ FPS. What is the average velocity "out of the box" for these guns? I've seen a lot of references to tune-up kits, but little useful information. I've done the adjustments indicated in the manual (hammer spring preload, hammer stroke, metering screw), but 375 is the highest I can get. Any ideas?

What pressure are you charging it with? Hand pump? Scuba tank?

What pellet? More info will help.

Reservoir pressure is 3000 PSI from a scuba tank. The pellets are 24g domed.

I have seen a bunch of videos with people getting 800+ FPS from 31g pellets.

I called Pyramid Air and they suggested checking the barrel o-ring and it was ok. I did replace it just to be sure but it didn't make any difference.

375 fps seems extremely low - the owner's manual says that a .25 can be adjusted up to 900 fps and it seems unlikely that from the factory it would be set to so low a velocity. You may void the warranty by adjusting it yourself, so it seems like the safest course of action would be to return it under warranty. Have you tried a Marauder-specific forum or just inquired here? You could ask at Gateway to Airguns http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org and see if someone there has encountered the same issue and how they solved it...

Good luck!!

That's way to low, easily 800fps with that pellet should be the norm. I'd call the factory and talk to the tech department but I would plan on sending it back to get it done under warranty.

Thanks everyone. I was hoping this was a quick fix, but I guess not. I'm going to call Crossman Monday morning and see what they recommend.
