Yes, do it. I have no personal experience with the 9015 but my wife has been shooting the 8001 in both Target and Open Silhouette for many years. That is one of the best purchases we have made. I have not handled a 9015 in person but I like the looks of the factory palm shelf that comes with it. The side lever guarantees that you will not have scope interference. You will have great latitude with how and where you mount the scope. I examined many photos and it seems to have the front receiver grooved for a front scope ring. Even if the front is not grooved, I would not hesitate to use a BKL type cantilever mount. It will be plenty strong. That rifle will last your lifetime and many more generations of your family if you pass it on to them.

I am using an Anschutz 8001 club rifle. It is way more accurate than I can ever hope to be.
Renco: Either rifle will serve you very well in Target class. You can also shoot your target rifle in the open class.
