Recommended Air Rifle for NRA 3 Position Competitions

Post by Krasmussen »

I am wanting to get into the NRA 3 Position Air rifle competitions and have been recommended many different air rifles and don't know which one will be most cost effective and be legal in all classes. I would really appreciate some thoughts on this and within reasonable prices.

Thanks,
Kolby :D

Paschal High School JROTC, Fort Worth, TX, used a version of this rifle to win the 3 P Jr. Olympics in sporter air rifle this year.

We also used the Daisy 888 with a high school team up here. It is a good start and we purchased them through the CMP for $ 205 and with a spare tank for $35 you are in business. $240 to the house

Thanks guys. Just out of curiosity do you have to have a membership to buy through the CMP.

You have to be a member of a CMP affiliated club or organization. Perhaps you are a member of your State Association, which was a requirement for any State Championship, or your Club is a member. Usually, Junior shooting clubs or groups are also affiliated.

Ok, I think OFGC is a CMP affiliated club and I've competed in state competitions so I should be able to order that air rifle through CMP.
I'll as John if OFGC is affiliated with CMP. Like i said I think it is.

Thanks again,
Kolby

If it is - OK.

If not maybe your State Assn is. If you have fired a State Championship then you should be a member since membership in a State Assn is a requirement to compete.

The Georgia Assn is a CMP member and that is how we got them for our shooters.

Good luck

Kolby, you might start hanging around www.targettalk.org which has a link to pilkguns.com. Good discussion forum and a nice buy/sell section.
You should also keep hanging around here, of course. Hope to see you at the big Spring Regional.
