Australian hits 40/40

Post by Ramslammer »

G'Day All
Just letting you all know that Matthew Everingham whom some of you might of met at Ridgway (he came third in smallbore) has just been the first Australian to hit 40 in a match. We would all like to congradulate him.

G'Day Juddy.
Acording to the NRA records no one has ever shot a 40 with a airgun in this country (USA). Please can you find out more information. i.e category and type of gun used.

I'm not sure that's true. I seem to remember someone posting a while back on Greybeard's silhouette forum that someone had shot a 60/60 in an airgun silhoutte match, so I'm guessing a 40/40 must have been done, too.

Hi Jason, It's just been pointed out to me that NRA records are only set at registered matches, so it's not been done at a registered match, so you are probably right. Still dam good shooting, that

G'Day All
Here in Aus we only have one class in "AIR" and after the "Sporter" rule changes that NRA went through I'm glad. He shot it with a FWB P70FT and it was at a registered match on the Belmont Range in Brisbane. There have been shooters who have shot it in practice but nothing is harder than competing and it is a indication of the concentration and focus that Matthew is capable of to hit 40/40. It was his spotter (very proud dad )that rang me and filled me in on the event. We are all pleased for him and he can now add this to his growing list of records.
