EOTech XPS2-RF for silhouette

Its a little late to ask but I bought a EOTech XPS2-RF for a 1700p (1701 trigger) pistol. I shoot mostly falling steel silhouette in my back yard and the occasional postal match. I would like to attend a real match some time soon. Did I screw up buying this sight? Seen it wanted it and hit the buy button.
