New Henry with 24" barrel

Post by ChuckD »

Any feed back?

Found a nice Marlin 39AS, nice shape, heavy barrel, which I like, pistol grip, matches up with the Winchester 94 I use for Big Bore. Got the trigger to not "boink" and is about 3 lbs and crisp.
Stock fits "Kinda Funny" to my face, but....
Every time I pick up my Henry, it screams "this is how it should feel"

Wondering how the longer barreled Henry's are working out.

Thanks
chuck

have not got mine set up for matches yet ( waiting on front sights )
ammo testing with scope mounted this past week shows promise , dime size 5 shot groups at 50yds and a preference for wolf and 22 mag loves cci maxi mags and hornady 45gr
polished trigger and action along with spring change have netted a crisp 2lb break

Wife LOVES hers.... 22 and 22mag. Bore scope barrels when new and now with a couple bricks through them. They look good and are shooting very well. Mag really likes CCI maxi Mag TMJ and the LR show a preference to standard velocity ammo. Real easy to get a clean sub 2# trigger.

Any hints on the trigger? Mine is about 4lbs, pretty crisp. Being a SR shooter for many years a 4lb is what I'm use to, but less is better :-bd
thanks

Mine is 2.4lbs. Excellent trigger. Henry tuned up the action for me when I sent it back for a rebarrel and it's devastatingly accurate now.

Yeah because that's not your group. I decided to show a full five shot group and not four a shot group "and we all know where the fifth shot would have went". %-( :-bd hahahahaha

What front and rear sight are folks putting this new Henry? Prefer Williams fool proof if it can be fitted to the rifle and a Steve Baldwin front sight.

I used the Williams Fool Proof with target knobs, extended elevation screw, Merit disc, 17AUG, and Sullivan fiber optic sight.
