MERIT #3 target adjustable aperture

Merit # 3 Target aperture . What do you like or dislike about these. Any idea who has them available as Brownels and Midway are out of stock and no response to e-mail directly to Merit. Thanks for your help.

I don't like how tight the adjustment is, but usually I don't move it once it's set.

Directly from Merit is the only place I've been able to order from.

I have seen other posts of them being hard to adjust. Should be able to adjust the clip tension??

I have multiple... some are VERY stiff and some will move when you bump them chambering the next round...

They are all steel so the stiff ones I just put a drop or 2 of oil and work them in.

YMMV.

Has anyone taken the aperture apart to adjust the metal tab that holds the ring in place??

What advantage is there ( if any ) of the adjustable aperture that sticks to the eye glass lens over the one that is installed in the sight itself.

I notice mostly pistol shooters using the one that mounts to your glasses. Give that tread a try for an answer.

Pretty sure the one on your glasses increases your focal range and the one on your gun aims the gun although it could increase your focal range too by stopping it down to gain front site focus
