Twist rate and .30-30 stability
Is a 1:12 twist rate okay for a 170 grain .30-30 or would you prefer 1:10?

Re: Twist rate and .30-30 stability
Thanks for the reply, Porpoise. I'm borrowing a nice 1:10, 20" Marlin with a Pedersoli Creedmore Vernier Tang sight for the RRC Cowboy regional shoot. It did great with the 170 grain. So, I wondered how the 1:12, 20" Henry .30-30 would compare, since I'm a Henry guy. Now, I'm torn because I found a 24" Marlin 336. I think that rifle with a Tang sight will have a 30" sight radius like my two Henry Frontier Long Barrels that I think are the "cat's meow".
