Speer 165gr Grand Slam bullet

Post by snaketail2 »

I saw these on the Graf & Sons web site - they "look" like the correct bullet profile for us - but I'd like to know for sure...are they considered "flat nose" of Spitzer? - Speer 165gr Grand Slam .308 bullet -

I think you'd have COL problems with that bullet.

I've used the Hot Core bullets for years. Never missed a target because of the bullet. Speer does not list their bullets with BC and ive never seen anyone else list speers BC but I believe they have the highest BC of all the 30-30 bullets out there.

Speer doesn’t classify it as a flat nose and I would be concerned, the tip looks smaller than a large rifle primer on the 30-30. I think it would possibly set one off under the right circumstances. Be careful!

Speer describes it as a soft point.
