Another front sight quetion
Putting a Lyman 17 on my Marlin 39A. Once lined up went in nicely with a nylon mallet. Too nice. Can't move with my hand, but if it was banged it will move. Use to lock AR front sights in place with green (wicking) locktite. Is there a better way?
thanks

Loctite 290 (wicking grade, green). That's the stuff I use. Anything better? Possibly, but I've never had any problems with movement.

I would use the Locktite, but you can always drill and tap it for set screw.

I used a shim made from been can that worked for many years.
On my Henry I have Lee Shaver front sight - a perfect fit, even has a bubble level that the shooter can see.

beer? can? That has worked for me too if the sight is very loose.
