Is it true the .30-30 spent case doesn't need resizing before reloading?

if it is going into the same and only rifle, you can get away with neck sizing only for maybe 2 or 3 rounds.

sooner than later you will need to resize, you don't have the camming action of a bolt gun.

If you have several rifles, you will need to resize every time.

Thanks! That's good news because case lube isn't needed with the neck sizing die and I'll have a universal decapping die.

I just started to have problems with my 30-30 reloads sticking in the chamber after firing because I wasn't full sizing. I'm currently full sizing ALL my 30-30 brass. Extracting some of the spent shells really got be worried that one would stick in so bad it wouldn't come out.
For bolt guns, yes neck sizing is okay but for lever guns you might as well full size every time just to be safe and save yourself a hassel.

I full length size the first time on new brass after that i only neck size. Been using the same brass (Federal Premium) now for 5 years. Mike

FWIW....

I full length size.

No determinable accuracy difference.

No problem feeding or closing the bolt or extracting either.

Brass is a consumable. Keep track of load cycles and at the first sign of a problem, dump them all and start over.

I've found the biggest difference in consistent accuracy is the crimp. I bought a Lee factory crimp die just to make sure I get a good solid crimp.

Consistent accuracy is a consistent crimp which requires a consistent case length...

I know you know... and most do... but there may be some that haven't equated the crimp consistency to brass trim length yet... I know I had to learn the hard way.... ;)
