The Henry is very accurate, a little light.....

Almost two years ago I bought a Henry 24" barrel 22LR. The barrel was obviously, visibly crooked. The muzzle was at least 3/4" to the right of center line with the receiver. Henry replaced the rifle. The replacement shoots kind of okay, I guess. If 3' to 5' groups at 100 yards with it's most preferred ammo is okay. I have toyed with sending it back also. There are folks that have claimed their long barrel Henry Frontier is very accurate. So far I am disappointed. Luckily my main match rifle is a Winchester 9422 Legacy. I just wanted a good back up rifle in case of a problem with the 9422.

Okay, I feel better now.

You should send it back. They will make it right. That is very odd. Everyone I have seen shoots well. The first 24" Mags had a problem with the barrels, shot out quick. Other then that honestly, yours is one of the few complaints I have heard.

Absolutely they will. I got my Frontier 24" 22lr and wasn't pleased with the accuracy (3/4" at 50 yards) so I sent it back with documentation showing the lands were washed out just behind the crown and that there were some scratches in the grooves the length of the barrel. They slicked the action, lightened the trigger, and replaced the barrel. It came back shooting 3/8" groups at 50 yards which far exceeded my expectations or even needs for that rifle. I bought the Henry for the warranty and have been 100% pleased with the entire experience of the rifle.

The two of you have given me some hope. I will request a return label. Let me see what they can do.

Just to let you know. During the 2019 Regional I walked by a fellow that was telling his friends about HIS Henry Frontier Long Barrel. His was a 22WMR, but like mine his barrel was off center axis by almost an inch at the muzzle.
Henry replaced my rifle, but this fellow had a new barrel installed on his. ( Henry's choice) when he got his rifle back it would not chamber a round. His 22WMR rifle now had a 22LR barrel on it.
Since he was a silhouette shooter he may even be a member here and can chime in.
I will let you know if Henry Firearms solves my issue. Gonna be a couple of weeks or months.

Sounds like they may have had a crack head working there for a bit... All I can speak to is the service I have and people I personally know have received in the past.

My wife shoots all Henrys. 22, 22mag and 357 for CLA. She likes them immensely and will be the first to tell you every single miss is on her, not the equipment.

I need another pistol cartridge rifle like I need another demented puppet president being propped up by socialist BUT if they made a 24" octogon barrel
side loading 357 I'd buy it tomorrow and not even care about the price.

Contact cust service, give them your entire story, what you actually do with the rifle and the fact that other people swear they will make it right and give them another chance.

I have a safe full of them.... LOL. I have 2 of the 22's and the one getting no love is for sale... I feel for it. Only thing I hate worse is buyers remorse...

Just spent time with a Master gunsmith in Barstow CA last week and learned to work the Lever Action triggers. What a difference!

Funny you mention the trigger. I have one of those Lyman electronic trigger pull gauges.
When I got my Cimmaron, I don't know what the actual trigger pull was, but the Lyman gauge only goes to 15 pounds.
Took it to a "Cowboy" gunsmith and it now releases at 2.75 pounds.
My gunsmith said :....manufacturers design guns, lawyers design triggers...."

I made it to AAA shooting a 22LR - then I bought a proper pistol cartridge rifle in a Rossi 92 in 357. It was nice, and worked well (hated the sharp curved butt plate though), but when I bought my Marlin 32-20, I never picked up that Rossi ever again and sold it. Of course I cast my own and reload. the 115 grain 311008 makes a perfect 32-20 bullet, which also works excellent for 30-30 chickens...
