Tried the 32-20 today!!

Post by jnyork »

First time out with my new-to-me Marlin 1894CL 32-20, got a 27x40 with only 5 turkeys, shooting in some wind and threatening to rain on us. The load of 85 grain hornadys and 8.5 grains of Lil Gun with Federal small pistol primers is plenty accurate and shows no signs of excessive pressue, although I will experiment a little more with it when I get back to Wyoming next spring and have access to my chronograph. The rifle feels just like shooting my 39a, same weight and length of pull, same Marbles tang sight and Lyman 17a front, I still need to get a Merit adjustable rear aperture and get the trigger stoned a little, it is about 5 lbs or so. Also looking forward to trying some lead bullets. Great little gun, I may have to retire my 44-40 Uberti!! :D
