marlin 1894c

Post by glen ring »

I couldn't stand it any longer and had to buy a 1894c in 357 magnum. I've bought some 180 grain nosler bullets to reload, but I'm wondering about how safe they would be in the magazine tube. The point is flat, but just about primer size and looks like it would fit on the primer of the next cartridge. I think I'm going to just load them one at a time into the tube and then fire. I think that's legal and certainly safe. Does anyone have experience with loading this 180 grain bullet and what can I expect if I shoot this combo in CLA at a 200 yard ram.

I use the Speer 150-grain FP bullet pictured below in my 30-30. Its flat point is fairly small. Haven't had any trouble with it at all.
