TSA Mountain Man Lever Action Match from May 5th

Post by alsmith »

Tiadaghton Sportsmens had a great series of matches last Saturday in the first of its seasonal Mountain Man Series.

Weather was great, lighting conditions varied and a great mix of young and older shooters.

While most of us were saying how the lighting conditions were tough, one of the pistol cartridge shooters just kept chipping away. At the end of the match I asked Randy Ent how he had done and he just said, "I missed one." Now that is one for understatement.

In the afternoon cowboy lever, again the weather was great and we were blessed with the Tiadaghton wind. During the lunch break it was decided that the canopy would not be used and we all tramped out to the grassy hillside for the final match of the day.

With the blue sky, wind blowing in your face, looking down at the chickens, and then up to the pigs and level with the turkeys and a little up to the rams it reminds one of what it must have been like for the old game hunters looking at at herds of game in the 1800s.

Tiadaghton is not just a great place to shoot, it also is one beautiful spot.

If you have the chance, join us for our next Mountain Man Shoot on Saturday, June 2. In addition you can shoot with us on Thursday nights from now through the end of August for smallbore lever and pistol cartridge shoots. The night shoots are followed by a pot luck supper that all shooters are invited to.
