clarification of classification ??????

I have a question

How are classifications B, A, AA, AAA, Master determined as it pertains to shooting.
I understand how it relates in this forum as to how many postings you put up.

Master 34-40
AAA 28-33
AA 21-27
A 15-20
B 0-14

Hunting Rifle

M 32-40
AAA 26-31
AA 20-25

Your first match, you start unclassified. At the end you have the classification you shot in your first match. Usually, that's B. Two scores higher than B class move you up to the next class but after you're out of B it takes three higher scores within two calendar years to move up. That is, the scores you shot more than two years ago "drop off" the record.
You never automatically move back down. You must petition the NRA for demotion in a rather cumbersome process.
Fellows, I don't have the rule book in front of me. Please correct any errors.

If your first "match" is part of a "tournament", you will be classified the same class as the highest shooter of the match, probably "Master" and will remain in that class for the entire "tournament". You can not be reclassified during a "tournament" and therefore will have to weight until your next time out to enjoy shooting against your peers.

That's the way it was explained to me.
