Thanks to everyone who made the trip to the match. The weather was great, if a bit on the breezy side, and the food was plentiful. I will try and get scores posted as soon as I can.

Thanks to everyone with BGC that helped put on this shoot, it was great, as usual. Good food, prizes and target setters. And a special thanks to Harold for not selling my gun after we drove off and left my gun in the rack!
See you next year!

Stan, Thanks for posting the scores.
I know Hugh Burnett mentioned it, but I would like to personally apologize for not having the open awards. I thought 2 1/2 months would have been enough lead time for the NRA Silhouette Dept., but apparently not. I will get them in the mail to the winners just as soon as I get them.

Great job as usual to all the Benton Gun Club guys and ladies. BGC is one of the finest gun clubs in the country for silhouette and the folks that run this match make it one of the finest matches in the country. We will see you again next year!

Re: 2017 Mid-South Regional, Benton Gun Club
First time shooting at Benton Gun Club and it turned out to be a Regional! Must say the staff was very accommodating. Any questions were answered quickly. The facility has excellent SB and HP ranges. I believe I was the only Illinois participant??? As a result was reluctant to make the trip alone. When arriving it took only a few minutes to be introduced to the match directors and staff. They couldn't have done a better job of making me feel welcome. As it turned out I discovered that I knew more than half the participants on the firing line.
Who would have known. Only shooting this game a year and half and knowing this many new friends is quite impressive.
During the HP Silhouette match I had a failure with my Hunter rifle. Two people offered to loan ammo and rifle to complete the match. It doesn't get any more friendly than that!
Needless to say I had a great time and will return next year for the 2018 Regional. Also plan to attend a few monthly matches this year.
One other thing worth mentioning is the Gumbo.. best ever, anywhere!
Benton Gun Club, Thank you!

FYI, I received the open awards in today's mail. I will do my best to get them mailed out to the various recipients by the end of the week (Dustin, I will hand deliver the LA groups awards in May).
Jerry, We were very happy to have our first shooter from Illinois. Looking forward to seeing you next year, or this year if you decide to come down for a club match. We won't have any gumbo, but we will have fun.
Once again, thanks to all for making the trip, and making this match a success.

Re: 2017 Mid-South Regional, Benton Gun Club
Bumping an old thread, I know, but...
Have the dates for the 2018 match been announced yet?
I've got a goal to hit four smallbore state/regional matches this year. Texas and Louisiana are a given, so Arkansas is the next logical location, and from the report here it looks like a good match.
Also, any suggestions for other big matches to look into? (Guess i should make that into a different thread.)

Julie needs to know if Smallbore is on Saturday or Sunday. Sunday she requests Monday off. Saturday she requests Friday off.
In 2017 Smallbore was on Sunday.
