Yes sometimes the dates just aren't workable for some folks, last year the bptr schedule didn't work for me, and looks like the 18 match is about as lousy of a date as they could of picked for me, so hopefully there is a 19...

Does anyone care to guess why six straight days without a mid week day off was selected? That Wed. off day is really nice to have to get HP guns dialed in, guns weighed, etc. This will force shooters to arrive early to get all their guns prepared. This puts pressure on the SB shooters to have to jump right into HP competition with no break. Is this an oversight? Are the dates set in stone?

I just thought of something; the last couple of small bore nationals at The Whittington Center Kathy and her father Chris held a shooting clinic. Without a break between the matches I fear the clinic will be a victim of this new schedule.

That sucks!

I was hoping to go to smallbore nationals next year but I've got a good friend's wedding in Montana the same day as the third day of shooting. :-q

I can only hope they shift the dates a little bit so I can go to both. :ympray:

The NRA published their dates in their Shooting Sports e-magazine. It arrived in my email inbox this morning

You can see the dates here

Unless the Whittington changed the housing reservations, Feb. 1 is the day they start taking reservations.

I went ahead and booked my room in Raton for the SB Silhouette Nationals.

I feel better now.

We never had any trouble finding lodging for the Nationals at Raton. We have stayed both in town and on Whittington.
For the size of Raton there are plenty of different options for housing.
That is the good thing about Raton.
The trouble we have at Raton is the lack of plentiful food options and looking at the targets that are in the shapes of the edible animals all day always makes a person hungry.
I think we are going to just plan on cooking if we are able to go.

Man, there is a lot of truth in that story! But we manage and we do cook a lot. Mostly game meat. Life is always good in Raton.

I anticipate having dinner at Gunslingers 2 several evenings.
