Dr. Hugh F. Burnett passed away on Monday morning due to postoperative complications. A longtime member of the Benton Gun Club, Hugh was a regular attendee at silhouette matches in Winnsboro, Zwolle, Baton Rouge as well as numerous National Silhouette Championships in Raton, NM. Hugh was an avid duck hunter and shotgunner as well. Trips to the skeet range and our local silhouette matches will not be the same. He was a good friend and will be missed

Hugh was among the finest people I've met since I started shooting silhouette. We are going to miss him terribly. His family, and the Benton Gun Club family, will be in our prayers.

Hugh was a thoracic surgeon. When I saw Hugh, I always told him there is no substitute for a man with good hand/eye coordination and a sharp knife. He always smiled and said the third thing needed was a bright light. He will be greatly missed.

Hugh was a great friend and even better shooting pal. He will be sorely missed. My prayers go out to the family.
