It was a 103 F at the Whittington campground, last I saw from Glenda. 103 is HOT regardless of humidity.

Naw.... I work in a shop just south of Houston close to the coast... Our heat index has been over 100* before noon for the last couple weeks with 90+% humidiy....
I was in Lubbock a few weeks ago and they were having 100+* temp and it was VERY pleasent....
It'll feel like a Houston spring up there in a couple weeks.

Well, then, you will be at a decided advantage. This could be your year to sweep...

My truck thermometer read 108 for about 10 minutes today on a trip through Denver on I-25, in the high 90's at my place.

We have been in the high 90s to low 100s for the last week or two down here in Albuquerque.

The warm weather here has been rather nice. The part that has been frustrating is the unusually windy days, much higher wind than normal. It seems our windy spring season is lasting through summer.

Re: Update on Nationals Numbers
I hesitate to post the answer here. This thread has gone so far off the rails, I'm sure most have quit following.Bob Mc Alice wrote: ↑Tue Jun 26, 2018 12:20 pm Hey Jeanne, any chance you could provide the numbers and state for HP also? In return I will bring you a few bags of Sams Club yellow and white tortilla chips and maybe a bag of Frito's, too.
But, to answer the question, for HP, the numbers break out by state as follows:
Missouri 4
California 3
Colorado 11
Washington 7
New Mexico 3
Tennessee 1 (Sorry hotrockets, only one here also)
Oklahoma 1
Arizona 3
Texas 5
Pennsylvania 1
Louisiana 1
Canada 1

Re: Update on Nationals Numbers
These numbers need to at least double. Louisiana's will definitely double. We expect every other state to double their numbers, too.
Get to work.

Thanks much, Jeanne. I know you are busy getting ready for your month long commitment.
Off the rails? That is normal for SC, we were just keeping the thread active anxiously awaiting your reply.
FOURTY ONE shooters for HP is pathetic. I could host that many for a HP National at CRC without running late. Snake at St. Louis could, too. If this trend continues we will be dropped as a discipline by the NRA, or at least shooting HP Nationals at Raton for sure. It has happened before. Wake up people.

Seriously though, I really wish I could make it out there this year as I really miss my yearly visits to that corner of the state. Guess I have to wait another two years until it cycles around again.
Best of luck to all those who are going to the big show.

Re: Update on Nationals Numbers
The guy that runs the IHMSA matches locally counts entries and not bodies. For instance, he might have 28 shooters, all shooting multiple guns. With all the possibilities in that sport, he could have 320 entries.
So applying that logic, HP has 77. Sound better?
