Another of ours leaves the range

Hope this link holds. Robert "Uncle Bob" Cloninger passed on friday the 13th. Bob stumbled into the pit of our silhouette game at Old Fort Gun Club near Fort Smith Arkansas and was a helpful hand and a a good friend He was an infrequent shooter and a frequent poster here on steel chickins. His wife never cared for me much, imagine that, and Bob was the only friend that I had that was a democrat. I will miss him as I m sure you will too. He loved nice rifles and german shepherd dogs and only was only allowed to bring one of the two inside with him. He shot some at the Benton Gun Club and once accompanied me to Winnsboro LA where he and David McLemore engaged in spirited conversation.

RIP Uncle Bob

Sorry to hear this John. I talked with Bob frequently and I knew he had some problems with his health, but he never complained. He will be missed.

Was a good soul. Maybe the last democrat that I would call friend. I often benefited from his projects that went astray....parts are parts. Solidly dedicated to re inventing the wheel....Lots of open ended conversations about lock times, dwell times and other unicorns we chase from place to place to place. I will surely miss him. In a known aside he bought Mallory her first high power gun, a remington 700 youth model in .243 to shoot at Zwolle. Just out of the clear blue a random act of kindness that he never wanted mention of. Bless his heart.

He will be missed. Even when he disagreed with someone, he did it respectfully. :(

not to belabor the fact or just to keep a thread alive, he was one who put more into our sport than he took from it. More like him we need

A lost art, to say the least.

May he RIP. I enjoyed his contributions.
