Please join us for the second annual Shamrock Silhouette Shootout Air Rifle Silhouette Championship in Baton Rouge, LA. The Program and entry form is attached.

In addition to Air Rifle Silhouette, this match also features both a Field Target Silhouette match and an Air Pistol Silhouette match. Please spread this around to your field target and pistol shooting friends.

Also, if you don't have three airguns, or just want to shoot one or two, bring your rifle and shoot! You can shoot a registered Open, Target or Sporter match in the Target and/or Sporter matches. Your score will not count in the match results but you can still set a national record and go for long-run records. So you can bring one rifle and shoot all weekend!

We were just talking about this match at our regular air rifle club match today.

In an effort to get non-silhouette shooters out to shoot some type of silhouette, we have been experimenting with highpower and smallbore "Benchrest Silhouette" and "F-class Silhouette." This weekend the benchrest shooters at our airgun club tested "Air Rifle Benchrest & F-Class Silhouette" and they enjoyed it so much that we have decided to include it in this weekend's Shamrock Silhouette Shootout.

Since we haven't had time to get targets cut out we are going to conduct this benchrest match this year on paper targets. The targets are attached. The chickens are set at 30 meters/yards, pigs at 40 meters/yards, turkeys at 50 meters/yards and rams at 60 meters/yards.

The rules are that any rifle and rest that is legal for 25-meter airgun benchrest is legal for this. The match can be shot from the ground prone as well and a separate class for F-class silhouette will be created. The shot cycle is exactly the same as regular silhouette with a 15-second "ready" and 2.5 minutes to shoot at 5 targets. Benchrest shooters will warm up and take sighters during the normal warmup time but they will not be allowed any sighters during the match, just like regular silhouette. Since we are shooting paper targets this time, any shot that breaks the black paper of the target counts as a hit. (of course, once this is being shot on steel targets, the shooter will have to knock the target over just like regular silhouette.)

Benchrest & F-Class silhouette will be available for all three 60-shot matches this weekend. They will be counted as individual matches with no aggregate. The entry fee will be $25 per match, the third match is free. Cash award to the winners and to others depending upon participation.
