I always though they were the same. I was looking for something and I came across a 1700FWT and a 1712 pulled barrel this week.
they were laying side by side and I noticed they weren't the same.

the 1712 on the bottom was about 1/2" longer

the profiles were different too.

Just another reference point, my barrel marked "Anschutz - Modell 1710" is...
  • 0.655" at the muzzle
  • 0.985" at the receiver
  • 22 1/8" long (not including the tenon in the receiver)

:-B

There have been some strange threads on this forum.
This one wins the prize for the most strange.
What do Anschutz sporter barrel weight and dimensions have to do with what may be a F4 frightening the beejeezuz out of 3rd world inhabitants and psteiger doing some kind of snoopy and the red baron leather flying helmet act?
Did psteiger select aircraft photos instead of anschutz photos and the delete the errant photos?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Cant see it has anything to do with the weight and profile of various barrels....

I didn't have a photo of Pat flying from his days as a military pilot so I added this one of him taken last month in his Russian Aerobatics plane.
