Southern Nationals Cookoff information
The Southern Nationals Non-shooting NRA Party is about a month away and I have had some requests regarding the rules, etc. for the Cook-off on Saturday.
1: There are NO rules!
2: In order to participate you will have to prepare food for 20-25 so that we will have plenty for the crowd (about 100 at this time)
3: You can enter in either Gumbo, Chili or Ribs or all three divisions.
4: Tony Chachere's is the sponsor and we will have prizes for each division. We will award First place in each Division for Three-person Teams.
5: We have three independent judges that will judge based on Taste alone. This is NOT the Food Network and we could give a rat's ass about Presentation!
6: The kitchen in the Range House as well as the BBQ pit will be available. You will have to furnish your pots, spices, crackers, rice, bread, beans, etc. Winnsboro Gun Club will furnish the plates, bowls and utensils as well as all the Budweiser products.
7: You may prepare you dishes in advance, freeze your gumbo and chili and then have it ready to be judged by 5:00 PM on Saturday. We will probably serve the meals whenever the judging is over.
8: Please email or PM me on this forum if you wish to participate in the Cook-off Contest so that we can prepare for all participants.
9: There is NO entry fee of extra charge for entering the Cook-off!!!
