Be Advised: I tried on two different days to surf that map and it froze my computer both times. It is good work though. Al Foust

Map is utilized with Google Earth satellite images that work best with newer computers with a good amount of RAM (512+)..........

Older boxes may not work too well as you have found out.

Great map though! Thanks for the effort chunter!
Usually shooting scores right in class, too bad its the class below my classification!

Al, do you have Google Earth installed on your computer now? If you would like I will create the KML file from the current map and send it to you, and you can open it up and view it in Google Earth. An older computer, or a slow Internet connection could be a problem.

I built the map using a five year old laptop running Linux and haven't had any performance issues with it. But with that said, I do know that every location has to be rendered onto the map one at a time and it can take a while.

There are a few things I can do that may help. One I can make it a static map that does not have the Google Map capabilities, what this means is you will lose the ability to use the directions feature (to and from tool), it will also remove the ability to search and do the other "google" features. But it will be a little quicker and all the locations will show up on the map, unlike now where it only shows one page of locations on the map at a time.

I will continue to look at it and see if there are some other tweaks that can be done.

Please continue to send me locations, if you are having problems seeing the map please let me know. I can help you walk through installing the Google Earth application on your computer (it is free, and the best free tool out there) and it will allow you to see the map, but also give you lots of other cool features.

Thanks,

Casey

Sorry All,

I just realized that there were posts to this sticky. I am happy to add any silhouette sites to the map. I will take the info that has been submitted in the above posts and add it. If anyone is aware of any more silhouette ranges or sees errors with the current data, please let me know and I will get it updated.

Thanks,

Casey

If someone has a file that I can use to add these ranges to Google Earth, I sure could use it.

Open the map. Click on the "edit" button in the left panel. Add your range.

If you are still updating this map -

South Bay Rod & Gun Club in Dulzura Ca. (San Diego area) offers small bore and pistol cartridge cowboy lever action silhouette shoots.
