Anschutz 54:ED question
I have the opportunity to buy a Anschutz 54:ED w/extension tube and Leupold scope. I have never seen this model ( or the one for sale yet ) and wanted to ask info about it. Any info would be greatly appreciated and pictures if handy. Does it have the match trigger ? Single shot ? is the stock the same style as the other 54 rifle ( not thumbhole ).

Re: Anschutz 54:ED question
Slows down barrel movement.
That's what I understand .... but as a pretty poor shooter I am just going by my thoughts which may be totally incorrect.

Extension tubes can also lengthen sight radius if iron sights are being used.

Re: Anschutz 54:ED question
Here in PA., You see a lot of these in the old Fajun thumbhole stocks. I think guys purchased barreled actions and went with their choice of stock. I do happen to own one of these in a Anschutz silhouette stock as previously posted. The inside of the tube gets filthy, IIRC (Gun hasn't hardly been shot in 15 years) I use a 50 cal brush on a drill with solvent to clean it. I do know they are a somewhat desirable model.
Hope this helps you.

Does or did Anschutz make a cap for the barrel if tube not used ?

Re: Anschutz 54:ED question
I never saw anybody with a cap on theirs. IIRC they are an odd thread size too, so you might have to have a gunsmith or a machinist measure threads and custom make one for you. The tube itself is very light. If you don't like the weights you still leave the tube attached.

Re: Anschutz 54:ED question
Anschutz barrel. I will ask Evelio if this is factory or something he crafted himself. This is an Anschutz heavy barrel he cut and re-chambered then installed on my CZ 457. Much superior to the factory offering.

Re: Anschutz 54:ED question
Well after 3 days on a very low quality China mini lathe I made my first thread cover. The cost of the cover came to just over $100 ( geeeeez !! ) but the worst is now I have to have a new lathe!!
