6X45/6-223 Need for speed...

More expensive to feed, but worth it.

6X45/6-223 Need for speed...

Post by cedestech »

Need for speed... yes, I know, get a bigger cartridge... barring that...

Rang the crap out of rams this weekend... knew I would but have to hit them first.

Using Benchmark powder, 105 VLD Berger target, 26" barrel, getting 2600fps. sub - MOA at 500.

Need a bit more speed... 3031 shows to run a little faster in the load data I can find.

Anyone load it and any other suggestions other then get a bigger cartridge (this thing shoots sweet with less recoil then my 357 lever guns)

I am thinking 6TCU but would rather stay cheap working on the load.

You need a bigger bullet also. Try a Sierra 110 Gr MK.

8tw barrel. I will probably have to stay below 110gr to stabilize. I am going to play with it. Sweet shooting with 68gr @ 2800. C-T are fun… no recoil. :) Going to play with powder and bullet selection for Rams. This weekend was 50% hit to knockdown. If I can get that up to 75% I’m good. No illusions of winning Nationals or even state match, so comfort and ease of loading/components is were I’m at.

Ground chicken knuckles applied to your bullets during a full moon next to the crossroads by the graveyard while reciting the Lord's Prayer backwards may work for you.....

Probably not.

IMR 4320 powder, very small grain size.
slightly slower than Varget.
