Laser Bore Sighters

Does anyone use a laser bore sighter? Would this be a good idea for a pre-match check?

No save your money, every match i have been to has had a practice before so you can check your settings. When mounting a scope, just by looking down the barrel when the rifle is on a rest, I can get the scope to be on paper, that is close enough to get it sighted in. And that laser tells you nothing on how the bullet actually gets to the target
