Supported shooting for old folks....

Post by OnaginOffagin »

Most guys my age can no longer hold well enough to have much fun shooting silhouette. I just got me a AA TX200 air rifle, and have begun to shoot airgun field target off of crossed sticks while sitting on a bucket! Great fun, and I wonder if a sypported special class for old silhouette shooters might keep more old guys on the line. Has any club tried something like this?

Just got back from our clubs (Bayou Rifle, Houston) Benchrest Silhouette Match. Front rest or bipod with the rear support by shoulder only. No rear rest and off hand can't touch rifle behind the trigger guard. Basically shoot air rifle silhouette targets at 100M. I might sound easy but outdoors in the wind it's a handful. Lets us older guys continue to play. Good Times!

shot our clubs last benchrest silhouette match for the year this past weekend, same rules as Merlin's club,
range's are 50 yds 100, 150, 200 yds, target sizes are 3 ea. 3/8 scale and 2ea, 1/5 scale target per each bank of five.
many older, handicapped and junior shooters compete in these matches, keeps people shooting

I think that's a great idea for attracting young shooters and retaining senior shooters!
