For many years I have been using a house hold cleaning/degreaser product called LA AWESOME that is sold in markets and 99 cent stores for $1 plus for the one quart spray bottle and $5 for one gallon bottle. I use it full strength to remove carbon fouling on barrels and it does a great job on .22 and HP rifles.
I told a few of my friends about it and one in particular was impressed on how well it work on his shotgun barrels.
Give it a try and see if it works well for you. Bore Tech products are very expensive in comparison and I doubt they work any better than some of these inexpensive cleaners/degreasers used around our homes for carbon fouling removal.
