So... who is going to Nationals??

Post by Ghostofwar »

As some of you who have read my post might know, I have only recently got back into Silhouette after serving Uncle Sam for a while. Now I have the bug again and it has bitten me HARD. I am already planning my trip out to Raton in August. I went to Ridgeway in 2000 and had a blast. Now I just can't wait to go again. So... Who else is going? What are your plans (if you have any yet)?

I think I have talked the whole family into shooting the Nationals. Our current plan is to mix the match into a two week vacation in Northern NM and southern Colorado.

It might be fun to pop a few prairie dogs or jack rabbits with our .22 silhouette rifles. Any thoughts from the natives?

Not many jackrabbits in southern Colorado{or any part of Colorado for that matter} and I would bring a .223 or bigger for dogs for two reasons. First is that area north of Trinidad is extremely windy and second a good number of the students from the gunsmith school {In Trinidad}make it there first order of business to build a varmint rig to shoot dogs.
Now they don't necessarily teach them how to shoot at the school so the dogs you find will be skittish, long shots will be the order of the day.
I have relatives in Trinidad.

I'd like to make it - depends on Ms. Rev. BB...

Depends, but I'll be standing in one line or the other. Either standing in line to shoot, standing in the unemployment line, or standing in a soup line.
