40 in Bad Weather
Hi All,
Last night was our bi-weekly CLA match at CSLC. It rained hard all day, but if stopped for a short time from 4pm till about 7:30 pm. Just enough time to set up and shoot the match without getting soaked.
We only had eight shooters so we set up both banks of ten and only had to set every two relays. We opted to just set up and shoot the match with no practice. It was very dark with the cloud cover and toward the end of the match it was getting foggy.
Shooting in these soupy conditions with no warm up Derek Greenaway shot 40 X 40. I told him before the match without any practice we would save all our good hits for the match. He did not disappoint. Derek also shot a 40 in CLA here last year.

Al, Great to hear about Derek. He's going to be the man to beat at the Nationals this year if you guys are going. Bob and I are using our one big trip this year to go to Winnsboro. Hope to get down to your club in June after we get back.

Pete,
Yes we are going to Cowboy Nationals. Derek is getting pushed a lot around here lately. A lot of shooters have been shooting good scores. His spotter is healthy this year with new knees and might take a run at him. You never know what might happen at Raton.
