it looks like the nra has posted the rule changes on their nra competitive shooting program site. the new changes states that the mag can not be loaded with more than five rounds. it drops the part about the cartridge must be loaded into the chamber from the mag. so it looks like you can single load now during a hunter rifle match.

Anschutz magazines are bothersome to load. I bought a single shot adapter for an Annie 54 MSR from rinardman on RimfireCentral. The adapter fits into the magazine and is easy to remove. It works great and as a bonus it solved the ejection problem Anschutz's are famous for. The bolt now kicks the empties well clear of the gun with never a hang-up or interference with the scope.

Hmm, I hope to heck that those are rule changes not just proposed ones. My sb rifle failed initially to be allowed into nationals 2 years ago because the toe of the stock is more than 7 inches below the center of the bore. The rule was waived for me and a bunch of other folks after a protest, but I was concerned that I might have to mutilate my stock to get it legal this year. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

What stock are you using on your rifle?

It would be a shame for you to hack up you nicely painted Wooster stock.

Nice oldranger.

Removing the 7" height restriction would be a big change I think.

For mine the issue is that the LOP is a bit longer than some folks. So that angle continues widening the butt the further away from the trigger you get. I think mine is 14.5" or so, and it comes in about a half inch too long under the rules 2 years ago. I'm still bringing my hacksaw just in case.

The reference to the "drop at the toe" along with the requirement to feed from a magazine was removed from the rules in 2014 at the November "Silhouette" committee meeting.

The 2016 rulebook confirms that change; those requirements are no longer there. Does that allow use of a repeating action as a single shot with an adapter?

This is the most recent topic I have found after doing a search and the only one with the rule as changed. I was planning on closing the magazine area completely on my spare stock for my Tikka T3 to give me a flat surface for my hold.
