He's gone. His last day was last Friday.Jason wrote:His LinkedIn profile still says "Silhouette Program Coordinator" so any change must be new enough to not have made it to that yet.

Hmm, so you're saying there is a job opening? Bet they'd make me move out of Montana tho....dustinflint wrote: He's gone. His last day was last Friday.

I do too, and I then you can donate it all the NRA competition division so they have a frickin' budget and can hire some quality people.

Re: National Championship Survey
Gee, here's an idea... Since Barry stated at the Cowboy Rifle competitor's meeting that the NRA wants to move all silhouette competition to the Whittington Center, why not move the silhouette DEPARTMENT to NRAWC as well? The wages would be much better relative to housing and other costs of living in New Mexico versus Northern Virginia. Might even be able to afford an employee to do the computer inputting of Grand Slam and even (shudder) scores!OldRanger wrote:Hmm, so you're saying there is a job opening? Re: National Championship Survey
That's a pretty good idea. Not sure how that would affect face time with the higher-ups for funding, etc. but the silhouette department doesn't get anything anyway so who cares.Tlee wrote:Gee, here's an idea... The most important thing IMO is hiring a silhouette competitor that knows the other competitors and has interest in hearing and doing what the competitors want.

Re: National Championship Survey
The closest person to that would probably be Glenn, since he shoots more disciplines that most and seems to know a lot of people, but I an't sure he is available. Who "knows the competitors"? There are a lot of different disciplines and no one knows them all, or even very many of them.dustinflint wrote: The most important thing IMO is hiring a silhouette competitor that knows the other competitors and has interest in hearing and doing what the competitors want.

Re: National Championship Survey
Actually, I shot a few HP matches with Greg many years ago. I can attest that he was a very good shooter. He came to our Pa state HP championship one year and shot the highest score, but we could not give him the state champion trophy because our state association requires the reciepient to be a state resident. We give a high non-resident. He did not like that at all. Oh well, it was listed in the program. He should have read it when he approved it.Tlee wrote:Yep, Service RifleBrentD wrote:

Re: National Championship Survey
The description of the ideal candidate make me think of one person who has been much more of a level-headed, reasoned proponent for our sport in recent years.
So.. Mr. Foust, when do you expect to start the new gig as NRA silhouette program coordinator? I bet the NRA would let you work from PA if you'd be willing to take the job.

Lets send jerry over to take over Barry's old job!
He is always full of an opinion on what the NRA Silhouette Division is doing wrong; he can fix the problems!

I certainly can envision you driving around in a truck telling all of the Whittington folks what they are doing wrong.Jerry G wrote:Thanks Dave........ I'll get to work on it. I can move to Raton. I could be there next Monday.
